Alectio Explains it All

If you work in machine learning, chances are you’ve had that moment at a party or a family dinner where someone asked you to explain some esoteric ML concept in a way your audience could understand. For experts, this can be tough. After all, machine learning is complex and even for those of us who work in the field it can be a bit of a black box. Even for the most didactic experts, certain concepts can be really challenging to explain.

It’s in that spirit we’re launching our first video series. These are explainer videos, broken up into five escalating levels of complexity. We imagined having an audience of everyone from a kindergartener to a fellow expert and broke down three big topics into five small clips, getting into further detail as we went along. We had a blast doing this and thought it might be a nice way to introduce some of our team and help break down some barriers to understanding around machine learning that we all know are there.

And so, with apologies to the Melissa Joan Hart sitcom we cribbed this blog title from, here are the first five episodes of our five-level explainer series:

Machine Learning

Data Labeling

Active Learning

We’ve been filming for our next round of these the past few days and are excited to share them when we’re all done. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them. Either click that link or leave a comment. Have a great week!
